Late Night Train Service for the Santa Fe Opera

Santa Fe Opera Theater SpotlightRio Metro and the Santa Fe Opera are partnering this summer to invite riders from Albuquerque (and all points in between) to attend the Opera by offering a special late-night train after Friday and Saturday performances (except July 4) and round-trip shuttle service between the Santa Fe Depot Rail Runner Station and the Opera. 

The transportation package is offered on the following dates in 2026: 

  • July 3, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 
  • August 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29

Transportation Package

  • $25 per person (round trip)
  • Includes round-trip Day Pass for rail transportation from all Rail Runner stations between Downtown Albuquerque and the Santa Fe Depot 
  • Includes round-trip shuttle transportation from the Santa Fe Depot to the Santa Fe Opera
  • Tickets must be purchased by 3 p.m. the day before; they may sell out earlier
  • Please note Opera tickets are sold separately and can be purchased online, in person at the Santa Fe Opera Box Office, or over the phone by calling 505-986-5900 (Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

  • On Fridays take Train # 516 or earlier north to the Santa Fe Depot Station View the Friday Schedule
  • On Saturdays take Train #708 or earlier north to the Santa Fe Depot Station View the Saturday Schedule
  • Train arrival times in Santa Fe give patrons time to explore, shop, or grab a bite to eat before boarding the shuttle to the Opera
  • Shuttle Pickup Location: Montezuma Avenue Bus Stop, near Beastly Books at the end of the pedestrian walkway at the Santa Fe Depot between the Vladem Contemporary Museum and the Jean Cocteau Cinema
  • Santa Fe Depot Shuttle departure times to the Opera:
    • 7:55 p.m. (Fridays & Saturdays, July 3 – August 1), 8:30 p.m. performances
    • 7:25 p.m. (Fridays & Saturdays, August 3 – August 29), 8:00 p.m. performances
  • Estimated arrival at the Opera: 30 minutes prior to performance time

Meet the Opera: A Santa Fe Opera representative will be onsite an hour before shuttle departure to answer questions and greet guests.

From the Opera

  • Following the performance patrons will take a shuttle back to the Santa Fe Depot Station
  • Shuttles will depart the Opera approximately 15 minutes after the end of each performance
  • All confirmed passengers will be accommodated before departure
  • Train departure times may vary each Saturday night depending on each show’s runtime; train departure is approximately 45 minutes after the performance concludes
  • The Rail Runner will depart once shuttle passengers have boarded 
  • Train service is provided between the Santa Fe Depot and Downtown Albuquerque Stations making all stops along the way
