Rail Safety Reminder

Did you know that there are over 100 railroad crossings in the 97-mile Rail Runner Express corridor?

Not every train crossing is marked with warning bells, lights or gates. With so many distractions, it’s important to remember that at any time of the day, you may find yourself near a train coming from any direction on any track. Trains are fun to watch, but walking and playing near them can be dangerous. Rio Metro reminds youth to always expect a train.

The Rio Metro Regional Transit District and the New Mexico Rail Runner Express have had a commitment to safety from day one. Our crew and operators undergo thorough training to ensure that your riding experience is as safe and secure as possible.
