The ‘Rail Safety: Look, Listen, Live!’ campaign encourages youth to become familiar with rules and tips to ensure that everyone stays safe on or nearby train tracks and at train stations. Through this effort, we are dedicated to the safety of railroaders and citizens, rail property and trains.
Even if you don’t ride the train today, think about how important it will be for the next generation. According to Rio Metro Transit Director Terry Doyle, the goal of this campaign is to educate non-riders about the long-term benefits of a commuter rail system in our region. “Average commute times over the next 20-years will be almost twice as long as they are today,” says Doyle.
The You Can campaign is designed to educate commuters about how you can save money by taking the New Mexico Rail Runner Express to and from work. By taking the train, the average commuter saves at least $200 each month. Calculate your commute cost and learn how you can start saving today.
The New Mexico Rail Runner Express launched its tourism campaign in July 2014 with an impressive video highlighting the culture, beauty and history that you can experience by taking the train. Whether your interest is fine dining, art, shopping, the outdoors, or just sight-seeing, take the train and live the adventure we call home.
Relax. Study. Read. Work. People commute using the New Mexico Rail Runner Express for a variety of different reasons. In March 2015, the Rio Metro Regional Transit District launched the Why I Ride campaign to educate commuters about the many benefits of taking the train. The campaign includes a humorous commercial featuring future riders being 'rescued' from different commute-related predicaments by Trax, the Rail Runner mascot.
