Rail Runner Passenger Service Resumes

The New Mexico Rail Runner Express resumed passenger service on Monday, March 8, 2021. Officials of Rio Metro Regional Transit District are following the guidelines set out by the State to reopen commuter rail service on a limited basis. 

The train is running on a limited schedule which at this time does not include any weekend service

The train will not be stopping at the following stations: 

  • Bernalillo County
  • Montaño
  • Downtown Bernalillo
  • Kewa
  • Zia Road

Rail Runner Crew Welcomes Passengers BackFares

Tickets can be purchased:

  • Online 
  • Though the mobile app (available for iPhone and Android)
  • Onboard the train with a debit or credit card (except American Express)

No cash sales at this time.

Ticket Holders

  • If you have a monthly pass that expired after service was suspended on March 15, 2020:

      • Your pass will be valid for 30 days after you activate usage when service resumes on March 8
      • Simply show the ticket agent your previously purchased monthly pass
      • The ticket agent will find you on our list of valid monthly passes and issue you a replacement monthly pass with an updated expiration date
  • Annual passes will be refunded on a prorated basis.

Airport Connections

Limited airport connections will be available weekdays only.

Face Mask Required
