Train Capacity: Trains will be operating at a 25% capacity (160 seats per train). If the train reaches capacity, passengers will not be allowed to board. Train crews will continuously monitor the number of people on board to stay in compliance. Rio Metro personnel will be located at the Los Ranchos / Journal Center and Sandoval County / U.S. 550 Stations to notify riders if the train is full. Food and Beverage: No food or beverage will be allowed at this time, except personal water bottles.
Boarding: Stand clear of the doors and allow passengers to disembark before boarding the train.
Seating: All forward facing window seats in the direction of travel are available for seating. If you are traveling with another person, you can occupy the seat next to them. Signage will be placed on seats that are unavailable.
Rio Metro Bus Service
Rio Metro bus services continue to be adjusted or suspended. All bus services in Valencia and Sandoval Counties will continue to be fare-free until further notice. Learn More
Seating: Capacity on buses is reduced due to the NM Health Order for Social Distancing. If you need to stand, for your safety please stand behind the yellow standee line and hold on to the stanchions
Boarding: Stand clear of the door and allow passengers to disembark before boarding the buses.
Safe and Healthy Travel Protocols at Rio Metro
In an effort to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases such as the coronavirus, it is strongly recommended to follow these precautions to ensure public safety:
Guidelines are in place and posted to help passengers maintain at least six (6) feet of social distance on board our buses and trains, and at station platforms.
FACE MASK REQUIRED
The proper wearing of face masks is required, per federal law. Face masks must always be worn on buses and at transit facilities and bus stops/stations. Mask can either be reusable or disposable.
Remember to wash your hands frequently. At least one restroom for hand washing is available on all trains. Hand sanitizing stations are available at all vehicle entrances/exits.
ENCHANCED CLEANING AND SANITIZING
Vehicle cleaning and sanitizing protocols have been elevated to meet and/or exceed public health guidelines.
CELL PHONE USE
Please wear your mask when using your cell phone on board our buses and trains, and at station platforms.
STAY HOME IF YOU’RE SICK
Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
