Leo Romero enjoys conversation. “I’m a people person,” he says. That’s one of the many things that makes Leo a great fit for his job.
As a full-time Bus Driver for Rio Metro’s Valencia County operation, Leo gets to meet and talk to a lot of people.
Belen to Albuquerque and Beyond
“I drive one of the Route 208 morning routes on weekdays,” says Leo. “I go from Belen all the way to Albuquerque, with stops in between. I pick up all these different people.”
In addition to the Route 208, Leo also drives Rio Metro’s Dial-a-Ride demand response service in Valencia County. “We go straight to the person’s place of residence and take them where they need to go.”
Leo has been driving for Rio Metro for a little over three and a half years. Before that he operated the Airport Shuttle for the City of Albuquerque.
A Safe and Friendly Ride
“I love talking to the riders that are with me. We want them to enjoy the ride. It’s a safe ride. Ninety-nine percent of the time we get them there on time unless something unforeseen happens,” he says.
Thank you, Leo, for the safe and friendly ride!
