Face Covering Guidelines
Face coverings still required.
June 30, 2021 – In an effort to provide guidance and clarity, Rio Metro Regional Transit District wants to remind passengers and the public that although many entities are beginning to relax guidelines on requiring face coverings and social distancing, the Federal Transit Administration has issued very specific guidelines when it comes to people using public transportation.
While masks are not required on outdoor conveyances and at public transportation hubs - such as outdoor bus stops, train station platform - they are still required to be worn while traveling on and/or in a public transportation conveyance system, such as while riding a bus or train.
These regulations will continue to be enforced on all New Mexico Rail Runner trains, as well as on all Rio Metro buses and vehicles.
