Exhibits Examine Consequences of Drugs and Brain Function

Natural History Museum Exhibit

The alarming escalation in opioid, methamphetamine, and illegal drug deaths in New Mexico and throughout the United States has reached epidemic proportions. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science will host two separate yet complementary, timely exhibitions, both opening in early 2019.

Drugs: Costs and Consequencesa traveling exhibition from the DEA Museum, addresses the heinous impact of drug addiction, and global drug issues that trickle down to our smallest communities. On display January 26 through Fall 2019.

Brain: The Inside Story draws on the most current research and technology to present the latest in neuroscience, highlighting the brain’s surprising ability to rewire itself in response to experience, disability or trauma. On display February 23 through June 23, 2019.

Both exhibitions included in museum admission.

Lecture Series

A series of lectures are planned in conjunction with the exhibits.
