Rail Yards Photography Exhibit

You are probably familiar with Albuquerque's Special Collections Library as home to research collections on Albuquerque and New Mexico history and culture. What may come as a surprise, though, is the fact that the library also offers a variety of other amenities and services, including meeting rooms, a monthly movie matinee, a speakers series, and an exhibit space.

From now through the end of January, visitors to the library will be treated to a fun and unique exhibit of photography and railroad history.

Photography Exhibit

The Special Collections Library is currently hosting an exhibit featuring photography of the Albuquerque Rail Yards by Janet Maes Gagliano. Maes Gagliano is a local artist who has also been a vendor at the Rail Yards Market since 2015. The exhibit is on view through January 31, 2019 during library hours of operation.

Railroad History Exhibit

Make sure to check out the exhibit cases adjacent to the photography display. Library staff put together a compilation of articles, brochures, books, and other items depicting the history of railroading in Albuquerque and New Mexico. On view through January 31, 2019 during library hours of operation.

Monthly Matinee

In addition to the displays, the library is also showing a ¡COLORES! double feature on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 2-3 p.m. Patrons will enjoy a screening of Katherine Stinson: Her Story followed by Albuquerque's Historical Railroad Shops. Click for Details
